Ms. Julianne

Julianne is a classically trained pianist, vocalist, and flautist from Dahlonega, Georgia. She has been teaching and developing curricula for seven years. Julianne teaches private piano, voice, flute, guitar, and ukulele lessons, and has developed a teaching style that produces tangible and excellent results. Students' self-esteem, self-discipline, and self-expression are the most important parts of her instructional methods, as well as the music-learning pillars of technique, fundamentals, and artistry.

Teacher Assata

Assata is an accomplished musician who graduated from UGA and since then has been involved in a myriad of musical projects. Their most recent project is a band called Crybaby. Assata brings their live performance skills and experience together with theory and technique training to create well-rounded, student-centric lessons with an emphasis on exciting repertoire.

Assata offers private guitar, ukulele, and bass lessons to all ages and skill levels.

Teacher Halli

Halli is a graduate of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. Although their degree is in theatre, Halli holds a very special place in their heart for music! Whether it be playing at a piano, singing in the car, or performing on a stage. Halli is a firm believer that music makes the world go round! Halli grew up surrounded by music, and having a mother that teaches piano only helped to foster and grow that love for music further. Halli couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Merit Music Academy team, and they hope to see you in a lesson soon!

Halli offers voice and piano lessons to all ages and skill levels.

Mr. Andrew

Mr. Andrew started taking piano, voice, and violin lessons when he was 7 years old, and was employed as a keyboard player at church by 11 years old! Mr. Andrew holds multiple awards, has written and produced musicals, and even sang in the United States Honor Choir. When he was in college at Florida State University, Andrew was also an active member of the Latin Jazz Band, Salsa Florida, The Italian Ensemble, The Concert Choir, and The Balinese Gamelan. At FSU he learned the sitar, harpsichord and the organ. He later received his Master's degree in piano at Valdosta State University. Some of Mr. Andrew's most memorable musical experiences have been playing for the Tallahassee Ballet and UGA Ballet and performing in New York City alongside Yo-Yo Ma.

When it comes to teaching, Andrew's goal is to make music easy and enjoyable to learn. He loves to work in the intersection between music and other artistic genres because of the way they influence each other. Mr. Andrew loves to bring other instruments and tools to lessons, and he has developed a teaching style that allows students to explore, express themselves, and succeed without placing intense demand on them. He makes practicing fun and engaging, and he looks forward to having you in his piano or voice studio.
